In order to thoroughly implement the requirements of the Party Central Committee’s targeted poverty alleviation work, effectively strengthen the targeted poverty alleviation efforts and ensure the implementation of poverty alleviation work, recently, the Joincare Volunteers Association led a group of six people with the assistance of the local government and charity association to travel to Songpan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province for a return visit to poverty alleviation of chronic disease patients of Joincare & Livzon Pharmaceutical Group.

The return visit to poverty alleviation of Joincare Volunteers Association was tortuous. Despite the unexpected conditions such as bad weather, mountain road traffic jam and members’ high-altitude reaction, the volunteers overcame many difficulties and arrived at the poverty alleviation point in the early morning after more than ten hours of driving. After a short break, the volunteers came to Qingyun Township and Shili Township health centers in Songpan County early in the morning. They checked the register of drugs donated by Joincare, asked in detail about the medical visits of donated poor people, and had a cordial conversation with the village doctors to understand the local basic medical care, public health, number of people served, reimbursement process of new rural cooperative medical system and the working and living conditions of village doctors.

It is understood that nearly 100 poor households in Songpan County are using medicines donated by Joincare & Livzon Pharmaceutical Group. The local government project leader pointed out that the health center is the primary position to provide common disease and frequently-occurring disease diagnosis and treatment services and basic public health services for rural people, which shall not only play an important role in alleviating the problems of difficult, expensive and long-distance medical treatment for grassroots people, but also shall combine the current requirements of targeted poverty alleviation work to promote the orderly implementation of health and poverty alleviation projects.

After checking the situation in health centers, the volunteers visited Grandmother Gega, 63 years old, a poor family in Xiongshan Village. Although she was suffering from complications of anemia and renal failure caused by hypertension, she kept a positive attitude with smile always on her face. Volunteers were also impressed by the optimism and simplicity of Grandmother Gega and obtained a deeper understanding of the significance of poverty alleviation of chronic disease patients of Joincare & Livzon Pharmaceutical Group.

As one of the earliest pharmaceutical companies in China to carry out health and poverty alleviation projects, Joincare & Livzon Pharmaceutical Group keeps practicing “Poverty Alleviation with Medicine” and helping the “Chronic Disease” patients. In the future, Joincare & Livzon Pharmaceutical Group will regularly donate medicines to poor areas according to actual conditions, spare no effort to help the poverty alleviation in poor areas, provide health and warmth to patients in need and, while continuing to innovate the management, respond to the call of the Party and the state, fulfill corporate social responsibility to the greatest extent, pay attention to health and poverty alleviation, help to overcome difficulties, and  contribute to China’s targeted poverty alleviation.
